Google Fiber Coming to Mission Viejo?

March 20th, 2010 2:44 am | No Comments

google_smGoogle is looking for communities with at least 50,000 people to a max of 500,000 and run fiber throughout that city or county.

seal_missionviejoThe City of Mission Viejo (where I live) will be presenting Google with our city for consideration. Google’s fiber network would bring speeds of 1 gigabit (128 megabytes) per second. Today my cable provider, Cox, delivers only 3 to 24 megabytes per second.

I hope the City of Mission Viejo is selected!

Here’s a quick video about Google’s project and their search for places to try their project.

Cyber Crush on Jeremy Lucido…

February 22nd, 2009 11:12 pm | 6 Comments

Jeremy LucidoSo I have been Twittering now for quite sometime. Somewhere in my travels I have come across Jeremy Lucido thru CDX on Twitter. I haven’t had anyone added to the Cute List in quite some time.

Ever since I have seen Jeremy online I have had the biggest crush on him. Our paths will probably never cross and if I ever get the opportunity to meet Jeremy, I’ll probably clam up and not know what to say in front of him.

So can I say that every picture I see with him makes me light-headed? :) Such a handsome guy! I”m sure he has someone special at home, but that won’t stop me from having the crush! :)

Jeremy is a photographer here in Los Angeles and is 30 years old. You can visit Jeremy at his website and see some of his work on his Flickr photostream.

Two “Voices” from My Recent Past

July 9th, 2008 10:08 am | No Comments

I got an email from an old podcasting (I used to have a podcast) friend today. He actually commented on the blog about my decision whether to buy the iPhone 2.0. I haven’t talked to “Larry H. Vader” (formerly of The Little Fatty Cast) in a LONG time. It was good to hear from him. I recently have gotten into Twitter and I’ve been quasi stalking him thru his Twitter posts. Larry and I made it to two Macworld conferences together. I need to catch up with him and see how he is doing.

In a related twist, that cute Chris (formerly from ExtraSpecial.us) just started following me on Twitter. He was a frequent guest on The Little Fatty Cast and had his own podcast under the moniker of ExtraSpecial. Anyway, we just finished an exchange about Brioche! Another foodie! Yay! (Oh…btw Chris, you make the Cute List!)

It’s nice to run into them again. For those that don’t remember my podcasts, you can click on the PODCAST category to the right and pull up all my ‘casts. Every once in a while I will listen and yearn to do another podcast. Those were the days… take a chance and listen to a few.

Go on….you might get a chuckle out of it!

How Daft!

July 5th, 2008 11:59 am | 1 Comment

I was reading a post on a friend’s blog [flip4bearz.blogspot.com] and Mike had a post with a video. I was, of course, mesmerized by the male version, but the original video was made with two girlz. [not sure if the one I have here is the one...]

Try to sync up the two videos and it’s even more kewl!

The Next Rachael Ray and other FN News

June 23rd, 2008 12:17 am | No Comments

Sunny Anderson is one of the newest additions to the Food Network family. Her current show “Cooking For Real” is in it’s first season and she is already branching out to a 2nd show – “How’d That Get on My Plate”. Her style is very much like the “sunny” disposition of another Food Network star, Rachael Ray.

On other Food Network news, it appears that Alton Brown with his famed show “Good Eats” will focus more on sustainability and being “green” in future episodes of Good Eats. He still is commentator on Iron Chef America and has completed his 2nd season of “Feasting on Asphalt”.

Cute, hunky Danny Boome on his new show “Rescue Chef” hasn’t been impressing me. Yes, he’s fun to look at, but I question his ability to “answer 911″ calls from cooks across America. On a recent show he said the tomatillo was part of the tomato family. That is far from the truth. The tomatillo is actually more akin to the gooseberry, not the tomato.

On Who Will Be the Next Food Network Star, Nipa is let go for her lack of “fish knowledge”.

Anne Burrell comes to the Food Network to host her new show “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef” scheduled to premiere on June 29. Anne is the Executive Chef of Gusto in NY but probably more known as Mario Batali’s assistant on Iron Chef America. Anne Burrell translates your favorite restaurant foods into amazing at-home meals.

So there is the host of the FNDish, Adam Roberts, who is the Food Network’s official video blogger. He’s kinda cute. Wish I could have his job! He had “back of the house” access to all that is happening at the Food Network. He is best known for his blog “The Amateur Gourmet“. Wanna go on a date Adam? :) You make it into my Just Too Cute category!

So Food Network, some constructive criticism, focus on the food and stop crowding your pages with ads! Also make it so the video play when we want them to, not when the page loads, that’s really annoying!

Cute List: Jeremiah Lee Cohick

January 2nd, 2008 11:03 pm | 2 Comments

Jeremiah Lee CohickSo I got an email from a friend saying I needed to go to Wired.com and vote for Sexiest Geek 2007. There is a long list of geeks there, both gals and guys. A few guys caught my eye, but it was Jeremiah that really caught my attention.

Currently 23 and living in Los Angeles, he graduated from Emerson College and working some mad media job.

Who know’s maybe I’ll run into him at Macworld, maybe not; but he seems like a nice guy from his About page.

Check his blog at http://jeremiahlee.com/blog/
