Stargate Universe

September 26th, 2009 8:23 pm | 2 Comments

Ok..I’m a bit behind as I haven’t been excited about the third franchise of the Stargate world. As time draws closer to the premiere on October 2nd on SyFy, I’m finding out more and more. I’m learning about how much different this will be from SG-1 and Atlantis.

I have a feeling that this is going to be something quite different and quite spectacular…

Here is a snippet of the trailer shown at Comic-Con in San Diego:

I hope that my fear that it will be Star Trek: Voyager will be proven wrong!

GLEE – Preggers

September 26th, 2009 1:31 pm | 1 Comment

This was another fun-filled night. Lots to deal with. Pregnancy, a continuing false pregnancy and Kurt comes out to his dad.

So the fun stuff? Kurt starts off the episode with Britney and Tina in their rendition of Single Ladies, Kurt’s dad walks in and catches them in the act…

Coach Ken brings the football team to Will to help them learn to dance so they can relax on the field.

Next in the last few seconds of the football game, Finn pull the Ring On It maneuver.

In the last clip, Kurt comes out to his dad. His dad says he’s proud of him.

My coming out to my parents wasn’t as joyful, but I do know they still love me.

Here are some little video snippets: (all rights FOX…blah blah…)

Kurt, Britney and Tina perform Single Ladies…

Puck protests as the team learns the moves to Single Ladies

Finn calls for the Ring On It play and Kurt comes out to his dad…

OH…and we find out Quinn’s baby is actually Pucks….

I Have Taste

September 21st, 2009 6:09 pm | 2 Comments

…again. Looks like my symptoms from yesterday have subsided and have full taste back. Not sure what the deal was, but I think it necessitates a trip to my primary care physician!

Lost Taste

September 20th, 2009 8:53 pm | 3 Comments

Something weird happened this weekend. It has happened once before a few weeks back. I have lost my sense of taste. All weekend long now I have been having cravings for food, but when I eat, it doesn’t taste like nothing.

It’s kinda scary actually. Today is the worse of the last two days. My sense of smell seems to be ok, but the minute I put it in my mouth, it taste’s like nothing. There are small bits of taste here and there, but overall, nothing.

Kinda sucks to be hungry and then eat only to be disappointed. Satifying hunger is not just about the physical eating of protiens and vegetables, its about the taste and smell.

Any ideas?

Taking a Little Trip: DC and Vegas

September 18th, 2009 1:15 am | 1 Comment

Well Washington DC, you better watch out cuz Scott Mindeaux is coming to town!

I’m taking a few days off in October to attend the National Equality March and to have some Foodie fun in DC. I’m only in town for 4 days which will mean my schedule will be pretty packed. I fly in very, very late on Friday, October 9th and fly back home on October 14th. Saturday I hope to meet up with old friends, but want to start off with breakfast at Kramerbooks & Afterwards Café at Dupont Circle. I know there are a million places to eat in DC for breakfast, but Kramers has always had a lace in my heart for it.

I do need to spend some time with my friend Scott Shumaker. Scott has been my best friend, my Apple confidant and my ear-to-the-wall connection to Washington DC. I also need to see my ex Brian and see how he is doing. Donno and him are still living out in Fairfax. Sunday is the March and the gathering at The Mall. I’m sure the day wil be filled with many emotions. The last “March on Washington” I participated in was back in 1993. It was that pivotal year that I became an activist in the LGBT movement and joined the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. Although I was more behind-the-scenes guy as their IT Director and Operations Manager, it was 6 years of my life that I will never forget. I hope to se many familiar faces over the course of the weekend and it will be very emotional.

On the Foodie side of things, I hope to visit Sur La Table and visit with Karen and my old cooking school at Pentagon Row. I do want to see Susan Adler as well as Carla Hall. I’ve been trying to reach her these last few weeks, but I know she has been very busy.  I do also want to meet Clay and Zach of The Bitten Word. I also hope I get the chance to meet Cory of Culinary Cory and hope to land an interview with Jacob at FoodNetworkAddict.com

I fly back to The OC on Wednesday the 14th and that will be a recuperation day. I’m back to work on Thursday and Friday. Then afterwork on the 16th, I’m off to Blogworld and New Media Expo in Las Vegas. It’s been awhile since I have been back to Vegas. The goal at this expo is to focus on all the aspectsof blogging as well as using additional media outlets to promote my food blog.

gleelogoGuest star appearance by Josh Groban??? Whoa.

Finn’s buddy joins Acafella??

Finn’s buddy shirtless??? OMG…

Kurt breaks Mercedes heart? He has feelings for ….

When the car wash scene came on, I turned up the volume and doing the moves in my living room with Mercedes. I hope I didn’t bother my neighbor! :) I’ve been watching that little clip and playing the song in my car all week, leading up to tonight’s episode.

Frankenteen? Woodland creature?

We’re going to win because we’re special…

…and I’m taller than you…

There’s alot of moms out there, right?

I came here to tell you…stop emailing me, this is a restraining order, stop sending me nude photos, stop calling me, I don’t want anymore of your edible gift baskets…

Why would a pop star like me come over and talk to you, let me tell you, throngs of screaming teenagers don’t do it for Josh Groban…

Its ok, my dad took my baby away when he found me tiara collection in my hope chest

I’m gay…

I’ve never told anyone before… you shouldn’t be ashamed of who you are Kurt, you should just tell people..

Expressing what’s really inside you…

I’m just not confident, I guess

I’m going to ask you to smell your armpits – that’s the smell of failure

For teaching a valuable life lesson – when you really believe in yourself you don’t have to bring other people down

From the top…
