Seattle Post-Intelligencer Closing?
The Hearst Company which owns the Seattle Post-Intelligencer has put the paper up for sale on Friday (January 9, 2009).
The Hearst Company has owned the Seattle PI since 1921. A few years back, they bought the Seattle Times which handles all the non-news portions of the paper.
The company said if it doesn’t find a buyer, the paper will close or go Internet-Only. If it does go Internet, it will obviously have a very reduced staff.
I only lived in Seattle or short time, but I liked the Seattle PI. It was a well organized, well-written paper with writers that cared about living in Seattle and reporting on it.
I hope the PI stays around.

Tonight was the Series Finale for Stargate Atlantis. The episode was only 1 hour long and it didn’t go out with much of a bang, despite the explosion of the nuclear device aboard a Hive ship orbiting Earth.
