Dear Heart, It’s Almost Christmas…

December 24th, 2008 1:25 am

istock_000003091114xsmallWell it has been several days since I got out of the hospital and still feeling tired and exhausted. Christmas is right around the corner and I have so much to do. Today, I had some pains in my chest area, but also in my shoulders and neck. I was doing the dishes and about 5 minutes into it I felt like I wanted to pass out and my arms really hurt. Then later I was climbing the stairs to my apartment and I felt like I was going to fall over.

The last two times I had stents put in, I did NOT feel this way. In fact, it was quite the opposite. I was bouncing of the walls and couldn’t stay still. Perhaps my body is telling me something. I’m off work until January 5th and my mind knows it and it probably is telling me to slow down.

I’m really sad that I won’t get to see my co-workers at Ignite before the holidays. They have been a great extension to my family and I have a good support system there. Special shout-out to my IT co-workers for being there.

Tim came over for dinner tonight and brought me some stuff from work. We had dinner and caught up. He tld me that he and KC put togther Matt’s office for me. Thank you KC and Tim. We then went to Target to see if we could find a copy of the NHL KC 2009 for the Wii. They didn’t have a copy, but they had one at a Target near his house. I got home and just crawled onto one end of my couch and started to fall asleep. My sister called and wanted to drop off my dad’s credit card so I can buy the stuff for dinner tomorrow night. I got some energy and headed out. The market was empty and I like it like that.

So tomorrow (Christmas Eve) we are having dinner at my parent’s place in Irvine. The menu is simple and won’t be much of a hassle to put togther. Dinner is at 8pm so I’ll start dinner around 5:45.

The menu? A very simple one:

Standing Rib Roast with a Horseradish, Rosemary, Garlic and Olive Oil Crust.

A Red Wine Mushroom Sauce

Scott’s smashed potatoes w/horseradish (a fave with my nephews and nieces)

Roasted Parsnips and Carrots

Dinner Rolls

Free-form Apple Galette with Cinnamon Ice Cream
