While shopping tonite, I thought to myself that I have passed the display for reusable shopping bags many many times during my previous shopping treks. So tonite, I decided that I was going to give them a try. These reusable bags are great as it also forces the bagger to fill them up. Nothing has made me more pissed than baggers that LUV to put one item in a bag and when you’re done bagging everything you have alot of those pesky plastic bags in your trunk.
The funny thing tonite was that I bought the bags, but the bagger started to put my stuff in the plastic bags!!! What?!?
Top 5 Reasons to Reuse a Bag:
The petroleum in 14 plastic bags could drive a car 1 mile
Americans use over 14 billion plastic bags annually
It takes 70% more global warming gasses to make a paper bag than a plastic bag
Paper bags do not biodegrade in landfills.
Cities spend up to 17 cents per bag in disposal costs.
In addition, Ralphs will pay me $0.05 each time I re-use them. The original cost of the bags was $1.50 each – part of the proceeds will go to local charities.Filed under: Advertising, Personal Log
