I Lost 1 Niece and 2 Nephews to Vista
Well after years of trying to convince my sister and her husband to keep their kids on Macs, they did the unthinkable and bought 3 HP laptops for the three of them.
They have never had brand new Macs, they always hand-me-downs. G4/1.25 ; MacMini 1.25/iMac 700Mhz – but all running OS X.
My other nephew from my other sister still is on a MacBook, but seems to be running XPÂ part of the time – which is fine, I’m in XP for a good chunk of the day too, but only in the background.
It’s hard to compete with a brand new computer and kids who only know “new” and not what is right. The littlest on, my niece, will feel the biggest impact. They use Mac laptops in the classroom. They have laptop carts and hand out laptops to kids that don’t have a Mac of their own. She will have to carry a USB stick to class and bring her work home and they only use OS X in the classroom.
