A Little Hectic Today

It was a bit hectic at work today. Lots of things going on. I have been in the middle of doing upgrades on all of our Macs in the office as well as learn how to setup a Flash Media Server. Our motion graphics department would like to test out the Flash Media Server to see if we can take advantage of that technology to benefit our clients.

Meanwhile, I have also been busy with inventory and the like. Ugh.

I did take 10 minutes this afternoon to take a walk around the complex with Tim. We talked about hanging out and doing something this week. I told Tim how frustrating it was trying to make gay friends here in the OC. I told him how lonely it has been and it would be nice to have someone to hang out with.

I’m also still reeling in from the horrible thing I did yesterday. I was out to lunch with Leigh Anne, Scott and Hop and we were just talking about stuff. Somewhere in the conversation, I looked over at Leigh Anne and said how I thought she was Coyote Ugly. OMG, she looked back at me with fire in her eyes. I thought she was kidding, but she looked horrified and upset. I looked around the table and said “What?!?” What did I say wrong?? I then began to explain that I merely meant that Leigh Anne knows how to have fun and be flirty, but not cross the line – you know like those bartenders in the movie Coyote Ugly. They then went on to explain to me that a Coyote Ugly is a girl that you picked up the night before and you wake up in the morning with your hand under her head. You look over and she is so ugly that you are willing to chew your own arm off than wake her!!!

A Little Thunder

What a nice Sunday morning. There is a bit of unsable moisture in the air and woke up to a little thunder above the apartment complex. Looks like unstable air from the South mixing in with already humid air made for some morning rain and thunder.

Looks like there is a 20% chance of rain for the rest of the day. Yech…its warm and humid.

Highs today in the basin are in the mid 70s at the beaches, upper 80s inland and in the 90′s in the desert.

Welcome Back To The OC!

My sister, Lyn, and her family moved back to the OC today. They moved from the OC, a few years back, and moved to Las Vegas. My sister is the floor manager for Arizona Tile at their corporate offices in Las Vegas. She will be transferring to their Anaheim office and starts work on Tuesday. My nephews and niece, (Damian, Jason and Sade) were all born in the OC and will be returning to normal temperatures and California life. Living in Vegas has been a little hard for them. With temps in the 100s for 90+ days just this season alone, it was a little bit to much in the end after several years. The kids were born near the water and they miss the beach too. My sister will be moving to Ladera Ranch.

My brother-in-law will be returning to his previous job with Lexus Mission Viejo.

It’s nice to have relatives closeby again…it means less trips to Vegas! Yea!! Welcome back sis.

God…I watched High School Musical 2

I don’t know why I did it. I was flipping channels on the TV when I came across the Disney Channel. I was hoping that Hannah Montana was on, but instead, it was High School Musical 2 – the second movie of Disney’s TV blockbuster.

I’m not sure why I was drawn to it. Perhaps its my fetish for synchronized dancing and singing. High School Musical 2 stars actors Zac Efron (Troy) and Vanessa Hudgens (Gabriella). I actually watched the entire 2 hour premiere. Yes…I know….WHY???

Zac reminds me of a very very young Rob Lowe. Even some of his mannerisms reminds me of Rob Lowe in that “West Wing” and “Brothers & Sisters” kinda way. Something about his looks is totally mismatched with his co-host Vanessa Hudgens.

There was a highlight.

Really.

There was a baseball field scene with baseball players dancing on the field in unison. My two favorite things: baseball and synchronized dancing. It was amazing…in a weird, high school, kinda way.

Harvard Hottie in The Nanny Diaries

There is a movie coming out this Friday called The Nanny Diaries, based on the book by Emma McLaughlin & Nicola Kraus. I’ve been watching the trailers for the last few weeks and have been noticing the handsome guy that co-stars in the movie with actress Scarlett Johansson.

For weeks I have seen him in the trailers and never actually “seen” his face up close. Today I decided to look up the website for The Nanny Diaries and it turns out that the handsome guy is Chris Evans. That’s right, Chris Evans of Not Another Teen Movie and the two Fantastic Four movies. Chris is pretty hot. He’s always played the jock/alpha male roles and in this movie we see a different side of Chris.

Will he surprise us with this more dramatic role in a romantic comedy???

Hurricane Dean Grows to Category 5

One of the first few hurricanes of 2007, Hurricane Dean has grown to a Category 5. Dean is moving West at about 20 mph and has sustained winds of 160 mph. Its current path will send it to the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.

Resorts all over the area are empty as resort owners planned with others for Dean’s arrival.

Shuttle Endeavor is heading back to Earth early so that if Dean decides to head towards Houston, Mission Control won’t suffer damage.
