Pre-Thanksgiving Thoughts

November 22nd, 2006 1:25 pm | No Comments

I’m thankful for the wonderful people I work with at Ignite Health the ad agency I work for here in the OC. I have been with them now for 7 months and it has been a very exciting time. Getting myself back “into the groove” and proving myself as an skilled and talented person.

Other thoughts this Pre-Thanksgiving day is to my friend Brian and his partner Donno. Brian bought a new house in Fairfax, VA and he’ll be moving this weekend. Donno is making the big move from Seattle to DC. I miss Brian alot and I think of him everyday. I no longer feel sad when I think that he is with Donno now. I’m glad the two of them have been able to make it thru these last two years in a long distance relationship and finally made the move towards something more permanent.

I’m heading to Vegas this holiday weekend to be with my family. Happy Thanksgiving wishes to: Karen, Daniel and Susan at Sur La Table at Pentagon Row, Kimberely at corporate, to Brian and Donno, to Chuck and Jay, Eduardo, Aaron and Davey, Scott S and the gang at Ignite!

Brothers and Sisters 1.5

November 12th, 2006 11:10 pm | No Comments

Tonite’s episode was filled with lots of emotion. Justin is being recalled back to the Army. He got his marching orders and he is freaking out. Justin remembers back to 9/11 and remembers Kitty recalling the day the planes hit the World Trade Center. She talks about how about 3 hours of her life seems erased. How she doesn’t understand what is happening and how nothing seems to be registering in her head as to what is going on.

Meanwhile, Justin has got back to drugs and liquor and asked his dealer to get him a “passport” to get him into Mexico. Justin went to Kevin to get help, but Kevin basically says there is nothing he can do. Justin wants to run and go to Mexico.

Meanwhile, Kevin and Scotty see each other and Scotty is still upset from the Ojai incident.

One of the funniest things I saw tonite is when Nora wakes up next to David, the contractor. She tries to “wiggle” herslef out of bed without waking David up. I can say that I have been in that position before! [snicker]

Then the secret password to the account that has the $15M is found. Sara adds “R” to the list of initials of all the kids and it WORKS!! But what comes out of that is Holly finally giving up that Rebecca’s father is same as Sara’s, William Holden. Holly never told him, for she knew that if he found out, he would leave his family and she didn’t want that.

The episode ends with Justin being rushed into the Emergency Room as Nora, Kitty and Tommy find Justin in his apartment passed out and not waking up.

Tonite’s thought is a meal that the Walker family is having just after 9/11. The family is talking about war. Kitty asks for them to stop talking about it. Mr. Holden agrees and they sit down to eat.

“The world outside this house we can’t control, not with bombs, not with diplomacy and not even with love, we know that now. The best thing we possibly can do now is just appreciate one another, right here, right now. Together like this. Family is the only sure thing in life. Always was. Always will be.”

Brothers and Sisters 1.4: Tucker Booth

November 6th, 2006 12:13 am | 2 Comments

Let me preface this entry to say that I continue to be amazed by the writing and show. It got a little lost last week, but this week brings back the story. So here it goes.

Sara is conflicted about selling the ranch with the orchards. Side conversations start about the memories about the ranch and a certain treehouse on the property. Seems lots of things happened in that treehouse.

Sara: I lost my virginity to Tucker Booth. A hot day in the treehouse.
Kitty: Oh maybe it was that boy…you know..Tucker Booth.
Kevin: I had sex with this total stud, everyone in Ojai was in love with him. Tucker Booth.
Justin: I got high for the first time with this cool dude, Tucker Booth
Tommy:

Meanwhile Tommy and his wife are at the sperm bank going over candidates for a sperm donation. The doctor talks about this light brown hair, blue eyed guy. Ivy League. Phi Beta Kappa, very popular. Tommy freaks out. Says he can’t stand the thought of some random dude swimming around in his wife. I think the guy is Tucker Booth! :)

Later at the Ranch, Tommy asks Kevin for his sperm. Kevin says no. Justin offers, but Tommy says no. The ongoing fight between the two. In the end, both Justin and Kevin donate, the bank will make it completely anonymous.

Sara find a baby picture and figures it was around 1979, she thinks it’s Tommy. The picture gets passed around the table, no one knows who it is.

Tonite’s Quotable:

“We can do our best to convince the next generation that they’re perfect, exactly as they are”

Hooters

November 3rd, 2006 12:55 am | No Comments

Tonite I was on the phone with my friend Scott in Wash DC. While talking to him I told him I was looking at a sign for Hooters, the restaurant. I asked, “you know Hooters right? The “o’s” in Hooters look like they “owlish”. He laughed and said that the logo for Hooters does in fact have an owl in it. I laughed. I never knew that Hooters actually had anything to do with a “hoot ‘er”… I feel dumb.
