The Kids…
Well my sister brought me a surprise. She brought my other sister’s kids with her. So Damien, Jason, Sade, Dallas and ToniLyn were all here today. My sis showed up around 10:30 this morning. Mom had been up since 7am cleaning and packing. When I answered the door, they were all there. I was so happy to see them all. My sister came in, we hugged, and I knew that our fight was now over (we hadn’t talked to each other in like 3 months).
The kids all settled in and they all headed out for the park. My sister and I went to Ikea real quick so I could get a table and get the computer off the floor. Finally! The Ikea off of the 405 in Costa Mesa was remarkedly very UNGAY. I’m used to Sunday afternoons at Ikea and seeing tons of gay guys there. I don’t htink I saw one gay guy there. It was also unusually staffed. There were NO lines. I mean..there were..just not all the way back to self-serve that it is at other Ikeas. At mopst at 2-3 minute wait. After picking up the table and legs from self-serve, we checked out and got some cinnamon buns to take home. My sister listened to my podcast for the first time and she said she liked it because it wasn’t DJ-ey. I’m glad she liked it.
The kids, my sister, brother in law Charles and my mom all piled into the Suburban and headed for Vegas. Remember, my mom is going to be there the entire month of August. After saying my good-byes, I headed in to the kitchen and the first thing I did was start to clean. Stage one…get rid of all the plastic containers!
