Yesterday was a bit difficult for me. A year ago I was at home getting ready for work when I turned on the TV to see what I thought was a movie. Only to find out that it was real and that we were under attack. I remember calling John Green and telling him that I wasn’t coming in. For the next two hours I would be glued to the television. After an hour or so I couldn’t take it anymore and decided to go into work, only to find that Mattel had been evacuated. I left feeling quite vulnerable and wanted to drive down to Orange County to be with my family. The freeways were a mess so I went home.

One year later, I found myself navigating around closed roads and military trucks with loaded ammunitions around the Pentagon. My school is less than 1/4 mile from the Pentagon. My colleagues at the store vividly remember the day. They felt the explosion from the Pentagon and they remember being in the middle of it. Emotions were quite high yesterday. At one point yesterday I listened for the tolling of the bells in memory of those lost in the attacks.
